Meet Loraine McKoy
Meet Loraine – Your Regional Director for South East Manchester
I’m Loraine McKoy — transformational coach, speaker, and author, with a deep belief in the power of reflection, resilience, and rewriting your story.
My career began in accounting, where I spent a decade developing a sharp eye for detail, structure, and systems. But it was in higher education that I found my true calling — leading, supporting, and mentoring teams for over 20 years. Working with students, academics, and professional staff across complex organisations gave me a front-row seat to the emotional and practical challenges people face during change. It also deepened my commitment to empowering others to thrive through life’s transitions, not just survive them.
Today, I support middle managers specifically women, especially those navigating grief, loss, redundancy, or reinvention through my coaching practice and signature R.E.N.E.W.A.L. framework. My approach blends emotional intelligence, NLP techniques, and lived experience to help clients reclaim clarity, confidence, and purpose.
My book It Is Time was born out of my own season of deep personal loss. Writing became my lifeline and today, journaling remains one of my greatest passions. I often use reflective writing tools in my coaching to support healing and transformation.
When I’m not working with clients or speaking at events, you’ll find me getting outdoors walking, discovering hidden bookshops, or behind my camera lens capturing beauty in the stillness. I believe healing is not an end point, it’s the beginning of a more grounded, intentional way of living.
As Regional Director for South East Manchester, Loraine is bringing together all of her talents to build a vibrant community of women, where purposeful connection, shared expertise, and meaningful collaboration empower each member to grow their business.

Manchester is a friendly, dynamic and vibrant group where you can be assured of meaningful business connections. Our members pride themselves on the strategic connections they create, collaborating and championing one another to develop new projects, services and opportunities.
Meeting schedule
The Manchester group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month, 12 noon – 2pm (excluding August & December).

Visits are booked in advance, allowing me to support you fully by sending all relevant information ahead of time, so you can arrive feeling prepared and confident.

I also host regular Cappuccino Connection relaxed, face-to-face networking over coffee, open to all businesswomen. These informal gatherings are a wonderful way to build relationships in a calm, welcoming setting. Membership of The Athena Network will give you access to all of our membership benefits including PASS+ which means that you can currently attend 150+ meetings (at no additional cost), Cappuccino Connections (informal networking), an extensive training portfolio, large national events quarterly and all the connections within our network.
If you choose to pay by monthly instalments, you are still committing to a full 12-month Athena membership. The payment plan is simply a convenient way to spread the cost of the annual membership fee. The full annual fee remains payable in its entirety, and membership is non-refundable once commenced.

PASS+ gives you FREE access to an Athena meeting, there are no additional fees to be paid and this is another benefit of membership. You are encouraged to visit as many other meetings as you have time for (please ensure that you have sufficient time to follow up from your meetings).
We have launched in Singapore and more International group launches are planned. What that means is you will also have access to those meetings. You could say that we have meetings 24/7. If the time zones work for you then your options are UNLIMITED.
ALL of this is included in your annual membership. Our usual meeting guidelines apply, which means there will be no professional clashes at the meetings, and the Regional Director/Ambassador will manage the dynamics of the mix of industries to ensure that everyone attending has an outstanding experience.
